2026 Nomination Guidelines and Award Selection

There are guidelines and a specific process when nominating and selecting award recipients.

Eligibility

Any regular staff member of the University of Michigan-Dearborn who has completed the six-month probationary period is eligible to be nominated. Nominees may come from any staff job classification. Temporary staff, student staff and faculty are not eligible for individual awards; however, they may be included in team award nominations. Staff, faculty, alumni, and students of the campus community are encouraged to nominate University of Michigan-Dearborn staff members in the different award categories.

The nomination process

The Chancellor’s Staff Recognition Awards Committee (CSRAC) is thrilled to announce the launch of this year’s Nomination Form Link!  This year, you will notice that the form has changed - we are using Qualtrics. To ensure Qualtrics saves your progress, you need to use the same browser and device. Please do not switch to a different device or clear your browsing data. Before you begin the nomination form, please review the criteria for each award.

Take the time now to start thinking about nominating a staff member or team who showcases extraordinary efforts while performing their jobs!  Nominating a staff member or team is a fantastic way to show your support and gratitude to those who help make our workplace exceptional.

Tips for writing your nomination

  • Start early so you can consider your words carefully and include all important details.
  • Fill out every question/section in the award application to the best of your ability.
  • Feel free to include examples to illustrate key points and demonstrate their efforts.
  • See every award as an opportunity to nominate staff members.

Recipient selection

The Awards Committee will select recipients for each award based exclusively on the information provided within each nomination form.

  • Any Awards Committee member who is nominated must abstain from any discussions about and decisions made in the specific category for which (s)he has been nominated.
  • Any member of the Awards Committee who nominates another staff member must abstain from any discussions about and decisions made in the specific category for which (s)he has submitted a nomination for.

Acknowledging award recipients

The recipient(s) of each award will be announced and honored at the annual Staff Awards Ceremony. The winner(s) of each award category will receive an honorary award as well as a monetary award. This award is taxable.
