Collaboratory Database

Simply use your UM uniqname and password to log-in to Collaboratory.

There are a couple reasons why you may have received an email from Collaboratory:

1. You've been invited to register an account with Collaboratory. Simply use your UM single sign on credentials to create your account.
2. A member of the OCEL team has entered an engaged activity on your behalf. Please review the information's accuracy, approve the activity, and claim ownership of the activity.

Collaboratory captures all work that falls into two categories: Community Engagement and Public Service. (Read this article to learn about the difference between Community Engagement and Public Service!) When you begin entering an activity, Collaboratory will walk you through a series of questions to help you determine if your activity qualifies as Community Engagement or Public Service.

Your research, event, project, or course belongs in Collaboratory if:

• there is a community partner
• it relates directly to a public priority or issue
• it relates directly to your role on campus as a student, staff, or faculty member (personal service activities, overtly political, or overtly religious activities should not be tracked in Collaboratory)

Depending on your comfort-level and the time you have available, there are a few routes you can take to ensure your engaged activities are in UM-Dearborn's Collaboratory:

1. You can enter your activities yourself! Check out the Activity Entry Form Preview to see what information about your activity is expected during entry. If you get stuck, take a look at the Guide to Entering Activities in Collaboratory. 
2. Schedule a 30 minute zoom meeting with a member of the OCEL team to discuss your engaged research, courses, and projects. We will then enter those activities on your behalf. When it's ready, you'll receive an email, and all you have to do is review, approve, and claim the activity in order for it to go live in the database.
3. Email [email protected] with your engaged activities and some details about them. The more detail you share, the better. The OCEL team will then do any research or follow up with you to complete the activity entry on your behalf. When it's ready, you'll receive an email, and all you have to do is review, approve, and claim the activity in order for it to go live in the database.
