SUBJECT: Higher Learning Commission – Campus Update
April 4, 2023 at 10:55 AM
Good morning, colleagues:
I hope everyone is doing well and, perhaps, enjoying a bit warmer weather. With spring nearly in the air, I thought I might remind you all that the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will be visiting our campus for a comprehensive evaluation visit this fall (November 13 and 14, 2023).
Last November, I also shared with the campus — for review and comment — the draft HLC narrative report which is still posted on our campus’s HLC – 2023 Visit Preparation webpage. I want to thank everyone who read the report and provided outstanding comments. Speaking for the HLC Coordinating Group, we appreciate the feedback and we are now working to incorporate it into the draft report.
Moving forward, the HLC preparation efforts will continue to focus on fine-tuning the draft report which not only includes incorporating the wonderful feedback but also updating the various sections with new data or information on institutional changes, events, and new activities. In addition, we will be working to complete the Federal Compliance Report which is part of our institutional response and a document that will be submitted to HLC along with the primary report. Finally, we will host in the early Fall — before the HLC visit — a campus-wide forum where the campus community can come to learn about the HLC preparation efforts along with important highlights from the report and what to expect from the campus visit.
Thanks and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
