How to Register
1. Check Your Eligibility to Register
Students can view their eligibility to register, earned hours, academic status and any holds that will prevent registration via the Registration Menu by selecting Prepare for Registration. More information about the Registration menu is below.
2. Meet with Your Academic Advisor
Meet with an advisor as needed or if required by the college. Academic advising is available through the student’s college or graduate department office. See the Academic Advising page.
3. Plan Your Schedule
Schedule Planner
Use the Schedule Planner to simplify the registration process and help find classes that fit your busy schedule.
Select the courses you need to take and block off break times, work schedule, extracurricular activities, or family obligations. Degree Works
Review your Degree Works Audit Worksheet and/or Student Educational Plan in preparation for registration.
Degree Works is a web-based degree audit tool that will help students electronically monitor their progress toward degree completion. This tool greatly enhances and assists students in navigating curriculum requirements. For more information, visit the Degree Works page.
4. Confirm Your Registration Appointment Time
Continuing students who are eligible to register via the Web can determine their registration date based on credits earned as listed in the Registration Timetable. New students will receive written information regarding their registration appointment time.
New for Winter 2024, registration dates and times will be displayed on the self-service Student Profile page. To find your specific registration date and time, click on Registration Notices and look for Time Tickets. Read additional information on time tickets.
5. Register for Classes
All students who have been enrolled for at least one term within the last year, new graduate students, and readmitted students who do not have financial obligations, holds or other registration restrictions are eligible to register online.
New transfer and new freshman students will register during New Student Orientation.
All new College of Business graduate international students should email [email protected] with your choices to finalize your course registration.

Student Agreement Upon Registration:
The student is responsible for enrollment in classes and for the following policies and procedures at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The student must notify the Office of the Registrar, via the Student Information System or email, to officially withdraw from the semester or add/drop any classes. The student can verify changes in course election and assessments via the Student Information System or by contacting the Office of the Registrar. The student accepts responsibility for tuition and fee charges regardless of attendance in class. Tuition and fee due dates are published by Student Accounts. If registered or added after the tuition due date, tuition and fees are due in full on or before the third Wednesday of the following month. If financial aid is pending, the amount due may change. Late payments are assessed a $30 late fine. The student agrees to read the Tuition and Fee Payment Policy, which stipulates payment obligations and the consequences if the student account should become delinquent. The student agrees to read and understand the policies regarding academic regulations (along with dates) as published in the applicable Catalog and the Registrar’s Office website. The student recognizes the need to retrieve electronic documents from Student Information System, i.e. e-bill, 1098-T form, etc.
