Tuition Key Facts
When setting tuition rates, each of the state's public universities is unique and has different budgeting processes, needs, and requirements. UM-Dearborn faculty and staff have worked hard to reduce costs and develop additional revenue sources such as fundraising, research funding, and facility rental.
How much tuition a student actually pays each academic year may vary due to the amount of financial aid they receive. The exact amount of tuition also may vary due to the college or program in which the student enrolls and/or due to the student’s current class standing.
- The 2024-25 tuition increase is 4.7 percent ($696 per academic year) for full-time, in-state, undergraduate students. This equates to $15,240, per academic year, based on the block rate for students taking 12+ credit hours per semester.
- Tuition and fees will increase for graduate students by 4.8 percent for in-state, or about $540 per academic year, and 4.9% for out-of-state, or $972 per academic year, for the typical part-time student taking 6 credit hours per semester.
- This year's registration assessment for all students will remain at $200 per semester.
