Standard Current Term Payment Plan

The University of Michigan-Dearborn provides a program for current terms available at the Student Accounts Self Service website.  Students enrolled in this program will traditionally have their tuition and fees divided into equal installments due on fixed dates once a month.  Questions regarding those payments should be directed to tnet.help@umich.edu.  The main payment plan description has been summarized below:

  • The standard current term payment plan expects students to pay multiple equal installments of his or her tuition balance typically on a third Wednesday of a month.  The exception is special "Financial Aid" payment plans that may require specific percentage payments of an overall balance on installment dates.
  • There are two main options of how to pay when selecting a payment plan: 1) AUTOMATIC or 2) NON-AUTOMATIC. When a student selects the AUTOMATIC Payment Plan, he or she is electing to have all three installments scheduled to be withdrawn from a saved payment method. If a students selects the NON-AUTOMATIC Payment Plan, he or she is electing to manually make each installment on or before their due dates. Regardless of how you select to pay on your payment plan, the installment dates are the same for both. One installment is due on the following dates.
  • Winter 2019 5 Month AUTOMATIC, or NON-AUTOMATIC Payment Plan
    - November 21, 2018
    - December 19, 2018

    - February 20, 2019
    - March 20, 2019

    -- Enrollment begins November 1, 2018.
    -- Fall 2018 charges and all previous term charges must be paid.

    -- Enrollment ends December 2, 2018.
     
  • Winter 2019 4 Month AUTOMATIC, or NON-AUTOMATIC Payment Plan
    - December 19, 2018

    - January 23, 2019
    - February 20, 2019
    - March 20, 2019

    -- Enrollment begins November 22, 2018.
    -- Fall 2018 charges and all previous term charges must be paid.

    -- Enrollment ends January 2, 2019.
     
  • Winter 2019 3 Month NON-AUTO FinAid (Financial Aid) Payment Plan
    - January 23, 2019

    - February 20, 2019
    - March 20, 2019

    -- Enrollment begins November 1, 2018.
    -- First installment will be 20% of current account balance. Second and third installments are 40%.
    -- Plan is designed for students expecting a balance after financial aid disbursement, but anybody can join.
    -- Fall 2018 charges and all previous term charges must be paid.

    -- Enrollment ends February 2, 2019
     
  • Fall 2018 5 Month AUTOMATIC, or NON-AUTOMATIC Payment Plan
    - July 18, 2018
    - August 15, 2018

    -- Enrollment begins June 21, 2018.
    -- Summer 2018 charges and all previous term charges must be paid.

  • Fall 2018 4 Month AUTOMATIC, or NON-AUTOMATIC Payment Plan
    - August 15, 2018

    -- Enrollment begins July 19, 2018.
    -- Summer 2018 charges and all previous term charges must be paid.

  • Fall 2018 3 Month NON-AUTO FinAid (Financial Aid) Payment Plan
    - September 19, 2018

    - October 17, 2018
    - November 21, 2018

    -- Enrollment begins June 21, 2018.
    -- First installment will be 24% of current account balance. Second and third installments are 38%.
    -- Plan is designed for students expecting a balance after financial aid disbursement, but anybody can join.
    -- Summer 2018 charges and all previous term charges must be paid.

    -- Enrollment ends February 21, 2018
     

The final installment may be slightly larger than the others if the value cannot be divided evenly.

  • Most payment plan deadlines are extended beyond the first installment date to grant additional time to enroll.  When enrolling in the payment plan after the first installment date, the student must pay the first installment along with the non-refundable setup fee online at the time of registration.
     
  • A down payment is not required when enrolling in a payment plan on or before the 100% due date. However, a down payment may be required if qualifying students enroll in a payment plan after the 100% tuition & fees due date.  A non-refundable setup fee must be paid online to complete registration for the payment plan. The non-refundable setup fee is traditionally $40.00 if enrolling before the 100% due date and $75.00 when enrolling after the 100% due date.
