Veterans at UM-Dearborn

The University of Michigan-Dearborn appreciates those who have served in defense of our country.

The University of Michigan-Dearborn is grateful for your selfless service and is honored to help you pursue your educational goals.

Veteran Services mentors students as they progress through their college endeavors. The Veteran Services team is led and staffed by military veterans who are here to support you and help you navigate any issues you may encounter. We are trained to disseminate information concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefit programs and to make referrals to appropriate university professionals to facilitate a smooth transition concerning your academic endeavor.

We sponsor programs, especially for veterans, such as veteran resume workshops and study groups.

Veteran Affairs Certification

The University of Michigan-Dearborn Veteran Affairs Checklist is your starting point to establish your VA Education Benefits.

Veteran Services works harmoniously with the Office of the Registrar to ensure the proper administration of military and veteran education programs and enrollment certifications. Visit the Veteran Services Certification page for more information about various VA Education Benefits.  In the "THIS SECTION" menu, information on things from initiating benefits to handling deployment can be found.

Once registered for classes, complete the VA Certification Request Form. VA benefits must be requested each semester you plan to use them.
