Veterans at UM-Dearborn

The University of Michigan-Dearborn appreciates those who have served in defense of our country.

Spring 2022 Military-Affiliated Graduate Recognition

We are grateful for the selfless service you have given and are honored to help you in the pursuit of your educational goals.

Veteran Services mentors students as they progress through their college endeavors. The Veterans Services team is led and staffed by military veterans who are here to support you and help navigate any issues you may encounter. We are trained to disseminate information concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefit programs and to make referrals to appropriate university professionals to facilitate a smooth transition in relation to your academic endeavor.

We sponsor programs, especially for veterans, including veteran resume workshops, veteran study groups, and many others.

Veteran Affairs Certification

The University of Michigan-Dearborn Veteran Affairs Checklist is your starting point to establish your VA Education Benefits.

VA Benefit Checklist

Veterans Services works in harmony with the Office of the Registrar to ensure the proper administration of military and veteran education programs and enrollment certifications. Visit the Veteran Affairs Certification page for more information about various VA Education Benefits.  In the "THIS SECTION" menu information from initiating benefits to handling deployment can be found.

Once registered for classes complete the VA Certification Request Form. VA Benefits must be requested each semester you plan to use benefits.
