University students only like one thing more than a canceled class—free stuff. UM-Dearborn offers many free experiences and goodies to its students that are sure to raise serotonin between midterm exams. Other than campus events and after-school activities, the university also provides free experiences for students. If you have an MCard (your student ID), you can check out this link for all of the discounts that students can benefit from. Or, you can check out these incredible perks that you and your friends can explore.
- Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village: Students can get a free annual membership to both the museum and Greenfield Village. For a whole year, you can explore the different exhibits, films, shows, demonstrations, and events that take you on a trip back through time.
- Arab American Museum: Like the Henry Ford Museum, the Arab American Museum also offers a free annual membership to its services. Learn more about the rich culture of Arab Americans without spending a dime.
- New York Times and Wall Street Journal: Students get a free NYT and WSJ subscription for as long as they are students at UM-Dearborn. Get premium access to world news and keep up to date with your favorite celebrity crush, all while playing word games and testing your vocabulary knowledge.
- Matthei Botanical Gardens The Matthei Botanical Gardens, located in Ann Arbor, boasts a beautiful display of flowers, bonsai trees, and other plants that students can access for free.
- Environmental Interpretive Center: The EIC, located on Dearborn’s campus, offers winding trails to walk along and tours of the different habitats that live in our 120-acre nature preserve.
- Microsoft 365: There’s more to Microsoft 365 than documents and essays; using your free student subscription, you can play around with photo and video editing, budget on Excel, make funny PowerPoint presentations for your friends, or get into creative writing on Word.
- UM-Dearborn’s Fieldhouse and Wellness Center: UM-Dearborn has open skate and hockey for free in the Fieldhouse, and skates can be rented at no charge to students. You also have access to gym equipment and fitness classes in the Wellness Center from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- UM-Ann Arbor School of Music, Theatre, and Dance: Offering plays, musicals, operas, dance performances, and more, UM-Dearborn students can never be bored when attending the UM-Ann Arbor School of Music, Theatre, and Dance for free.
- UM-Ann Arbor Museum of Art: With free admission for UM-Dearborn students, you can view stunning pieces of art from local artists, growing sculptors and painters, and even UM-Ann Arbor art students!
- Sporting Events: UM-Dearborn students can watch the Wolverines play sports such as football, hockey, basketball, and soccer with free admission. You also get early access to tickets for UM-Ann Arbor games and tournaments.
- Fairlane Music Guild: Located on the historic Fair Lane, home of Clara and Henry Ford, the Fairlane Music Guild grants students free entry to concerts upon showing a valid student ID. From singers to small orchestras, they offer a wide variety of musical shows for students to enjoy.
