Admissions Prerequisites

Equivalent of a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
Standardized Test Scores
Beginning Winter 2024, the GMAT and GRE are optional for admission to all College of Business master's degree programs. As part of our selective and holistic admission process, the graduate admissions committee may ask some applicants to submit GMAT or GRE scores if additional information is necessary to help demonstrate readiness to succeed in the master's program.
Prerequisite Courses
A grade of C or better in an undergraduate course in college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, or higher.
4+1/Accelerated Option
Current UM-Dearborn undergraduate students may qualify for the Accounting 4+1 option resulting in both the BBA in Accounting and the MS in Accounting. You are eligible to apply if you are:
- Currently enrolled at UM-Dearborn as a BBA student with a declared Accounting major
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 at UM-Dearborn
- Have a GPA of at least 3.0 in Accounting courses at UM-Dearborn, excluding ACC 298 and ACC 299
- Have completed ACC 356, 380 and 381 (if currently enrolled in one or more of these, you may seek conditional admission)

The College of Business and the College of Engineering and Computer Science offer an innovative dual degree program leading to the simultaneous award of a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Engineering -Industrial & Systems Engineering (MSE-ISE).

Industrial & Systems Engineering (MSE):
- A course in probability and statistics (IMSE 510 or equivalent)**
- A course in operations research (IMSE 500 or equivalent)**
**If admission prerequisites are unfulfilled, the applicant must speak to an advisor for the Industrial & Systems Engineering program.

- Currently enrolled at UM-Dearborn as a BBA student with Professional standing and with a declared Information Systems Management major
- Have completed ISM 310 (if currently enrolled, you may seek conditional admission) with a B or better
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 at UM-Dearborn

- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn
- Have a 3.25 cumulative GPA or better
- Have completed MKT 352* and either MKT 363, 434, 436, or 455
*If earned with a B or better, MKT 352 will exempt you from taking MKT 515 in the MS-Marketing. Exempted courses are replaced with more advanced courses.
