Prepare for Your Orientation Day
Welcome to the Wolverine Family!
Orientation is your first step toward a successful college experience at UM-Dearborn. Use this guide to get ready, so your day runs smoothly and you can make the most of your time on campus.
Log In to Your Orientation Portal
- Review your major: Make sure your major is correct before orientation.
- Need to change your major? Submit the Admission Information Change Form to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions ([email protected]) before your scheduled session.
Know Your UMID, Uniqname, and Password
- You’ll need these credentials to access UM-Dearborn systems during orientation.
High School Students: Submit Earned College Credit Documents
If you have AP or IB credits, dual enrollment, or early/middle college transcripts:
- Send official transcripts directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions before your orientation.
- Grades on high school transcripts are not considered official for credit evaluation.
- Missing official college transcripts may impact your course registration.
Transfer Students: Submit Updated College Transcripts
- Send any updated college transcripts for courses that were in progress when you applied.
- Must be sent directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions before orientation.
- Delays may affect your course registration.
Sign Up for a Current Student Mentor
Ease your transition by connecting with an upper-level mentor through the Wolverine Mentor Collective. After orientation, you’ll be paired with a current UM-Dearborn student who can:
- Help you navigate campus life
- Share advice on academics and student engagement
- Support your first year at UM-Dearborn
