This graduate tuition and fees calculator is intended to provide estimated pricing information for current and prospective graduate students and their families on a per term basis. Tuition assessments will be provided in a tuition bill after actual course registration either online or in a schedule bill if registering in person.
The amounts itemized in the calculator reflect the most recent Tuition & Fee Schedule, effective for Fall 2017 to Summer 2018.

The tuition and fee schedule is reviewed and approved each year by the University of Michigan Board of Regents. What a student actually pays depends on the amount of financial aid received. Tuition is assessed each term of course registration. Overall program cost will depend on the total number of terms one takes to complete the total number of overall credits required for the program of study.
At the graduate level, a full-time course load for enrollment certification, financial aid, and visa-related purposes is eight credits. See the graduate catalog for complete information. Most graduate courses offered on this campus are three credit hours each. Therefore, it generally requires registering for three courses per term to be considered full-time. To be considered a graduate course (and be billed at the graduate tuition rate), courses must be at the 500-level or above. Undergraduate prerequisite coursework (400-level or below) or courses taken outside of one's home college may be assessed at a different rate.
This calculator does not include costs for books and supplies, room and board (meals), health insurance, or other related expenses. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships provides estimations for these costs.
