Concurrent (Dual) Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degrees
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers attractive concurrent (also called dual) degree options. A student completing such an option will graduate with two accredited BSE degrees.
Each option requires the total of 143 credit hours, which is 15 more than a single BSE degree. With careful planning, this can be accomplished in just one additional semester.
The concurrent-degree options maintain the high quality of each degree, fully satisfying the requirements for both by the time of graduation. The total number of credit hours remains low because many required courses, such as those in natural sciences, mathematics, social and behavioral sciences, humanities, and foundational engineering, overlap between the two degrees.
The available concurrent-degree options are:
Concurrent BSE in Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering
Concurrent BSE in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering
Concurrent BSE in Engineering Mathematics (available to both Mechanical engineering and Bioengineering students)
