Returning Students
Reverse Culture Shock
Despite how much fun you had while away, returning home can be difficult for many reasons. Sometimes returning to familiarity can cause reverse culture shock. Want help processing your thoughts and feelings? Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) sessions are free for current UM-Dearborn students.
Sharing Your Experience
It’s important to share what you learned, both academically and personally, once you return home. Journaling to reflect on the experience, sharing photo albums with loved ones, and creating art inspired by your trip can help you remember your time abroad.
If you’d like to share photos for use in study abroad marketing, please email them to [email protected]
Career Planning
Studying abroad helps students develop and learn unique skills that can increase their employability. Meet with a member of the Career Services team to learn about reflecting your study abroad experience on your resume.
