As a Wolverine, you’ll be part of an inclusive, supportive community where professors know your name. You’ll put your dreams into practice through hands-on learning experiences, such as internships, research and community service.

Now that you’ve been admitted, it’s time to prepare for your arrival on campus.

UM-Dearborn Enrollment Checklist 

Whether you’re coming to us directly from high school or transferring from another college, here are some important next steps for admitted undergraduate students. 

Submit Your Enrollment Deposit

Reserve your seat in our incoming class with your non-refundable $50 enrollment deposit

Apply for Financial Aid/Accept Financial Aid Offer

If you have not already, submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the UM-Dearborn school code: 0023236. 

If you’ve received and reviewed your financial aid offer, get information about accepting your offer. 

Create Your Wolverine Identity (Uniqname)

When you were admitted to UM-Dearborn, you should have received an email with your eight-digit UMID number and instructions for setting up your uniqname and umich.edu email account. If you still need to set this up, you may do so at the IT website

Prepare for Orientation and Placement Exams

Orientation will help guide you through the transition to UM-Dearborn. Visit the Orientation website for more information. 

As part of the orientation process, you may be required to take a math placement exam.  

Review Transfer Credit Progress

If you are transferring to UM-Dearborn, you can track your credit transfer status at Degree Works

Submit Final Documents

Before you begin classes, you’ll need to submit any final outstanding documents such as your transcripts and AP test scores. Your final high school transcripts or transcripts from any other colleges/universities must be sent directly to UM-Dearborn from the issuing institution.
