Alumni Career Resources
For recent UM-Dearborn graduates (defined as alumni who have graduated within the past 2 years) that no longer have access to the student portal and would like to have their resume or cover letter reviewed or to schedule an appointment, please email [email protected]; if you are providing a document for review please include it as an attachment (pdf, doc, or google doc preferred). If you are requesting an appointment, please let us know if you would prefer to meet in person or virtually and a few days and times that you are generally available during traditional business hours.
Please keep us posted on the next step of your journey! If you graduated with a bachelor's degree in August 2024, or expect to graduate in December 2024, or April 2025, and have secured employment or are attending graduate school, please take a moment to complete this brief survey. This information is used in the aggregate to help our current and future students know where our graduates go next.
Alumni who graduated more than two years ago, please understand that the resources provided on the Career Services website and by the Career Services team are focused on assisting and providing information relevant to current students and recent graduates. With that in mind, all alumni are welcome to attend Career Fairs and other events or workshops hosted by UM-Dearborn Career Services. Also, we highly recommend using the following resources.
My Next Move, which pulls salary, career growth projections and other career information from the US Department of Labor.
The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan (AAUM) Alumni Career Program (please note: membership to the AAUM is required for some but not the majority of the resources offered).
- Includes a career video library, career webinars, a job board, opportunities to connect with other alumni and career coach services at a discounted rate, among other resources.
UM-Dearborn Job Club Linkedin Group. This is a private group meaning one must request entrance to the group. Admission will be provided if Career Services can see from the requester’s profile that they are currently attending or have attended UM-Dearborn. In addition to jobs & posts being shared, Career Services events are announced to this group. Members are also encouraged to share valid opportunities from their network.
- Our website, in the “Finding Employment” tab, offers a limited list of professional associations and job boards in the “Websites by Career Field” and the “Employer Research and Career Search” sections.
The UM-Dearborn Mardigian Library also provides resources, such as databases for employer research, to verified alumni. You can find information on how to access library resources through the library alumni page here.
If you are looking to network, we recommend connecting with alumni through the Alumni Engagement Office events and their UM-Dearborn Alumni LinkedIn group. This group is also a private group like the UM-Dearborn Jobs Club group so you will need to search for the group and request to join. Once you are verified, you will be admitted.
