EP for Certified Teachers

Endorsement Program Description

The University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Education, Health, and Human Services offers this program for teachers who currently hold a Michigan Standard or Professional Teaching Certificate and wish to enhance their certificate with an endorsement.

Teachers now have the option to select an endorsement program within their same grade band or within another grade band.

The following three (3) requirements must be met before the University will recommend to the Michigan Department of Education the addition of desired endorsement(s). 

  • Completion of an endorsement academic program through an approved
    Educator Preparation Provider (EPP).
  • Successful completion of the required field hours that will be arranged with the
    assistance of the Field Placement Manager.
  • Passing the state-required Michigan Tests for Teacher Certification (MTTCs).

Program Completion Requirements

MTTC Exams

Test results must be reported from Pearson Evaluation Systems by electronic delivery to the University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Education, Health, and Human Services. No hand carried or emailed scores will be accepted. When registering with Pearson to take an MTTC, the University of Michigan-Dearborn must be listed to receive an official copy of the score report when available.

Grade Point Average

Completion of this program requires that a student successfully completes all requirements as stated on the plan of study and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0. 

Time to Completion

Program completion time will vary depending on transfer credit and whether a student is enrolling on a full-time or part-time basis.
