The University of Michigan-Dearborn has adopted standards and a uniform design for interior and exterior wayfinding signage.
Facilities Planning maintains UM-Dearborn's wayfinding program and signage including: gateway signage, vehicle guide signs, directories, building, department, and room identification signs as well as the temporary event signage used throughout the campus.
Temporary event signs are placed in sign stanchions in five locations around campus to direct visitors to special events. You can add an additional sandwich board sign or lawn sign at the building or parking area where the event is taking place. If would like to have temporary event signs installed on campus, please complete an AiM Request. Be sure to include the name of the event, the date(s) on which the event will occur, and the building or location where the event will take place. The request must be received at least 72 hours in advance so that Facilities Operations can complete your request in a timely manner. Please limit the title of your event to 28 characters within three lines of text. There is no cost to erect these temporary event signs for campus sponsored events.
Most signage changes are made as a component of the project modifying the space, but occasionally, there are room changes that occur with no alteration. To request new signage, please complete and AiM Work Request. Include the exact name of the space, the room or campus location, and the name of the person authorizing the change. Please include the shortcode to be charged.
