Our Initiative

The King-Chávez-Parks (KCP) College Day Program was established by the Michigan State Legislature in 1986 as part of the broader KCP Initiative. The program aims to improve college graduation rates for students who are underrepresented in postsecondary education.

The College Day Program helps students explore the value of higher education and build the knowledge and skills needed for college success.

Program goals include:

  • Providing early exposure to college opportunities
  • Supporting college readiness and preparation
  • Helping students transition successfully into higher education
  • Increasing access to resources for low-income students in Michigan

Partnering Schools

  • Chandler Park Academy High School
  • Romulus High School
  • Robichaud High School
  • Advanced Technology Academy
  • Alpena High School
