Programs
Our programs help our campus community improve sustainability related skills and knowledge, reduce waste, and conserve energy. They offer opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community to play a role in protecting the environment with the vision of achieving a more equitable future for all.
Featured: Project Protect PAT is Back for Spring Migration 2026!

As the snow melts and birdsong returns to campus, it's easy to forget a hidden danger: our buildings. Glass windows are one of the leading causes of bird mortality worldwide, with up to one billion birds killed annually in the U.S. alone from collisions with human infrastructure (American Bird Conservatory, 2024).
In an effort to fight back, Project Protect Avian Travel (PAT) empowers community members to document and report bird collisions, building a dataset that is actively guiding funding efforts toward window treatments at high-risk hotspots. This data-driven approach is already making a difference. This winter, Environmental Interpretive Center staff installed a new bird window deterrent on the south facing window of the building’s east wing after recognizing the location as a bird strike hotspot.
