Mission Statement

The Student Advising & Resource Team (START) is composed of New Student Advising, Peer Advising Learning & Success (PALS) Program, and Health Professions Advising (HPA). START provides exemplary advising services to a diverse undergraduate student body throughout their academic journey at the University of Michigan-Dearborn with intentional programming and outreach. START partners with other offices across campus to foster student engagement and development. The START team is dedicated to providing each student the individualized support they need to meet their own academic goals.

Who We Are

The START Office is dedicated to supporting first-year students as they transition from high school to college. We also provide support to select transfer students, all health professions students, and all students who need academic skills support.

START services are integrated across three areas:
