Graduate Recognition and Doctoral Pinning Ceremony
What is the Graduate Recognition and Doctoral Pinning Ceremony?
Our doctoral programs require students to pass several rigorous examinations to advance throughout learning. Qualifying exams measure a student’s readiness to advance beyond coursework into candidacy. Candidacy is the stage during which doctoral students conduct independent research under the direction of a faculty advisor. Doctoral candidates are recognized for their advancement with an annual pinning ceremony alongside students and/or organizations who have achieved distinction for their efforts.
