Pre-Orthotics & Prosthetics

The orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) profession helps improve movement and function in individuals with musculoskeletal and neurological impairments, bettering their quality of life. Orthotists and prosthetists evaluate patients and design custom orthoses (braces) or prostheses (artificial limbs). Once created and fitted, these devices support the body and assist with function such as walking, running, grasping and balance. Clinicians manage a wide variety of conditions across the lifespan including limb loss, scoliosis, diabetes, stroke and spinal cord injury [The Academy of AAOP, 2024].
