As "medication experts," pharmacists are concerned with safeguarding the public's health in matters relating to medication distribution and use as well as disease state management. What classes do I need to take?

Each Pharmacy School or College has different requirements. A list of programs in the US and their prerequisites requirements can be found on the PHARMCAS School Directory.

What is the national standardized test?

The Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT®) was retired on January 10, 2024.  All test takers may continue to request Official Transcripts and Personal Score Reports through the Pearson website until December 1, 2024. 
 

What else should I know?

It is important that you learn and incorporate the Association of American Medical Colleges Core Competencies for Entering Medical Students in your pre-requisite courses and extra-curricular activities. Even though this says medical students, these competencies will help you too! Pharmacy schools/programs will assess you on these professional skills!
