Co-Curricular Assessment
Many programs and offices across campus engage students in learning outside of the classroom, from internship programs to student organizations to the library. Many of these programs have articulated student learning outcomes (such as leadership skills, career knowledge, research skills) and regularly assess how well their programs facilitate student learning in targeted areas.
Co-Curricular assessment provides UM-Dearborn with a broader picture of our students’ total and wide-ranging learning experiences. By supplementing academic program assessment, co-curricular assessment allows us to gauge our students’ exposure to UM-Dearborn’s Goals for the Undergraduate Experience, especially the last three of those goals: Collaboration, Cultural Understanding, and Citizenship.
