International Transfer Admissions
How to Apply:
Transfer students are encouraged to apply early in their final semester prior to enrollment at UM-Dearborn and in advance of the deadlines below. All components of an application must be received prior to it being personally reviewed by an Admissions Counselor. Completed applications include the following:

UM-Dearborn's Application Instructions
Helpful information for creating an account, setting up your password, and checking your admission status.
- Go to the Admissions Navigator
Click the Sign Up button. - Enter Your Information
Provide your preferred first name, last name, and email address. Then, select the “I’m not a robot” checkbox and click Submit. - Check Your Email
You will receive an email with the subject line “UM-Dearborn’s Online Application Username and Password Setup.” Open the email and click the link to set your new password. - Reset Your Password
On the password reset page, click Reset Password. - Create Your New Password
Enter your new password (must include both letters and numbers) and confirm it by entering it again. Then, click Save. - Login to the Application
Once your password is saved, you will be automatically logged into the online application page.
- Go to the Admissions Navigator
Select Reset Password. - Enter Your Email Address
Enter the email address you used to create your online application account, then click Reset Password. - Check Your Email
You will receive an email titled “UM-Dearborn’s Online Application Username and Password Setup.” Open the email and click the link inside. - Reset Your Password
Click Reset Password on the webpage, then enter your new password twice. Make sure your password contains both letters and numbers. - Save Your New Password
Once saved, you’ll be automatically logged into the online application page.

- Official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities you have attended

- Failure to disclose ALL schools you have attended may result in revocation of admission
- UM-Dearborn requires a third-party credential evaluation for most international transfer coursework. We need course-by-course evaluations in order to complete the application review process. Students should submit all post-secondary transcripts from non-U.S. institutions directly to one of the following services to determine U.S. equivalence for each educational credential, including degree and accreditation as well as GPA and credit conversion.

Course-by-course evaluations from other NACES members may be utilized on a case-by-case basis.
If you are admitted and enroll with us for a 2024 Winter, Summer, or Fall start term, we will reimburse you up to $200 to help cover the cost of new course by course international evaluation. This reimbursement will be applied to your first term’s bill.

- UM-Dearborn will not require the submission of ACT or SAT scores for the 2022 undergraduate application year**
- You will have the option to indicate on the admissions application if you want your test scores factored into your admission decision
- If you choose to submit scores, follow these links to request that your SAT and/or ACT results be sent to UM-Dearborn

Application Deadlines
It is recommended that students submit applications well in advance of the application deadlines to secure seats in your preferred classes. Courses fill quickly.

Transfer Admission Criteria
The four academic colleges have their own admission criteria:
- College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters 2.50
- College of Business 2.70
- College of Education, Health, and Human Services
- Teacher Certification (elementary/secondary) 2.75
- Health and Human Services, non-certification education programs 2.50
- College of Engineering and Computer Science 2.75

Applicants who plan to enroll as an F1 or J1 visa student must provide additional information to the Office of International Affairs, who manages the student visa process and Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

Student Expectations
