M.S. ABA Program Data Collection

Data collection on Program for Graduates

Each year, the M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis program collects outcomes assessment data on its students.  The following data are provided so that prospective students can make an informed decision about applying to the program.

Annual Reporting Period

The most recent data presented are for the 2023 calendar year.

Number of students whose degrees were conferred by the program

These data represent the number of students who graduated from the program in the winter, summer, and fall semesters of each calendar year.

Median years until graduation for students whose degrees were conferred by the program

These data represent the middle value of years for program completion.  Upon admission to the program, students meet with an academic advisor to complete a Plan of Study outlining the path for program completion.  For a variety of reasons, some students may progress through the program at a faster or slower rate, depending upon the number of credits taken each semester or periods of inactivity from the program.

Number of students enrolled in the program

These data represent a count of students on January 1st of each year.

Number of students no longer enrolled for any reason other than conferral of degree

These data indicate the number of students who have not completed their degree program.  These students may have left the program for a variety of personal or academic reasons.

Number of completed applications received

These data indicate the number of completed applications the program has received and reviewed for admissions consideration.

Number of students admitted

These data indicate the number of students admitted to the program from the number of completed applications received.

Number of first-time candidates sitting for their Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) examination

These data represent the number of students from the program who sat for the BCBA examination for the first time.  Data are obtained from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Percentage of first-time candidates passing the BCBA certification exam

These data represent the percentage of first-time students who sat for the exam and passed. Data are obtained from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Number of graduates obtaining a master-level state license as a behavior analyst

These data reflect the number of program graduates who obtain the Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) credential from the State of Michigan.  These numbers may lag behind graduation and exam pass rate numbers as students must complete 2000 hours of supervised practical experience, take/pass the exam, and obtain the BCBA credential before applying to the State of Michigan for their LBA.  A variety of factors may contribute to a given student's timeline for obtaining the LBA.

Median undergraduate grade point average (GPA) for applicants admitted (reported on a 4-point scale)

The middle value of GPAs for admitted students is listed. The program requires a minimum 3.0 GPA for admission.

Median standardized test scores: Not required for admission to the program

The M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis program does not require any standardized test scores for admission to the program at this time.  No values are reported here.
