We are dedicated to helping students refine and strengthen the academic skills necessary for success at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The College of Business offers resources to not only help students pass their classes, but empower them to become independent thinkers. The strategies that students gain through our support programs will help them to excel at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and beyond.

Get Help with a Business Course

We offer Supplemental instruction through peer-led group study sessions in ACC 298, ACC 299, DS 301, DS 302, FIN 401 and OM 300. Additionally, Knack is a free peer-to-peer tutoring platform where UM-Dearborn students can connect with verified peers who have excelled in your courses to get academic support when you need it.

John H. and Patricia W. Mitchell Business Communication Lab

The Mitchell Business Communication Lab at the College of Business provides Business Communication Consultation to help students further develop their written and oral presentation skills enhancing their professional presence. Business Communication consultants are available to work with students one-on-one, or with a small group, to help students develop communications for class assignments.

Academic Advising

COB advisors are available to provide information about program requirements, University policies and procedures, and campus resources. Advising appointments are available by phone or in person, day or evening.

In addition, faculty are available to discuss their fields of expertise, course content, and possible career paths. Faculty are available during scheduled office hours and often by special appointment. 

Writing Center

The Writing Center offers peer consultants who can help you become a more effective and confident writer and researcher, no matter your field of study or expertise.

Research Education Support

Need help with a research paper, assignment, or project? The Mardigian Library is here to support you. From navigating databases and evaluating sources to developing strong research questions and creating proper citations, our librarians provide the tools and guidance you need to succeed.

Dedicated support for College of Business students is available through instruction librarian Natalie Hagopian, who offers one-on-one help, class sessions, and drop-in hours.
