If you already have an undergraduate degree and want to pursue another, you are considered a “second-degree” transfer student at UM-Dearborn. This page outlines how to apply.

Bachelor’s Degree Was Not Earned at UM-Dearborn

Submit an undergraduate application and follow the steps outlined for transfer students. You will be required to send transcripts from all institutions previously attended.

Bachelor’s Degree Was Earned at UM-Dearborn

Submit an undergraduate application. You will not need to request a UM-Dearborn transcript (or transcripts from schools attended prior to your initial degree at UM-Dearborn); we will access your UM-Dearborn academic record.

  • If UM-Dearborn was your last educational experience, your final cumulative GPA will be used to determine admissibility. Transfer GPA requirements apply.
  • If you attended any college/university after graduating from UM-Dearborn, a transcript from that institution is required and may be used to determine admissibility.

Cost and Financial Considerations

Students pursuing a second bachelor’s degree at UM-Dearborn are not eligible for federal grants or institutional scholarships. However, you may be eligible for federal student loans, private loans or scholarships.
