Welcome to the Center for Social Justice & Inclusion!
The mission and vision of the CSJI is to be an affirming, accessible, and inclusive space where learning & compassion is fostered through community & belonging. We give special attention to celebrating the accomplishments and diversity of students who have historically been underrepresented in higher education, including students across different races, ethnicities, and cultures, students who are gender-diverse and LGBTQIA2S+, and all women on campus. At the center of our work are our core values - the ideals and concepts that are integral to promoting our mission and reaching our vision. These values are curiosity, accessibility, resourcefulness, equitability, and student-focused approaches. We want every student to know that CSJI C.A.R.E.S.
We utilize all of these things to guide us in setting, accomplishing, and assessing our goals. Our specific goals each semester change with time, staff, and the campus make-up, but the goals of the CSJI fall broadly into the following categories:
- We create and implement programs & events that cater to the needs of students
- We grow and enhance campus & community partnerships
- We facilitate student development through student mentorship & resources
- We create and provide workshops and trainings on topics around diversity, equity, and inclusion for our campus community
