Celebrate your home away from home this Homecoming! The Office of Student Life hosts several events throughout the week and will have something for everyone. Gather with alumni, fellow students, faculty, and staff as you celebrate your Dearborn Wolverine pride!
Homecoming Traditions
One of our most exciting campus traditions! Student Organizations, Athletic teams, Alumni, and Departments test their creative thinking and engineering skills to build boats entirely out of cardboard to race across the Chancellor’s Pond. Whichever team makes it to the end of the pond, and back the fastest with their boat afloat and in one piece wins.

A unique carnival event with games, prizes, activities, and free food
An annual event where alumni take on students during a fun athletic game competing to win the Maize & Blue Trophy. Traditionally this has been in flag football, but for the first time starting in 2023, students will take on alumni in a game of broomball on the ice rink!

The Student Activities Board (SAB) organizes a night where students come together and dress up (as they please) to kick off the new school year. Gathering in a beautifully decorated University Center, students are able to meet new friends, and catch up with old ones at this special occasion.
Attend a campus tailgate before the big homecoming game with free food, prizes, lawn games, music, and more.
2024 Homecoming Schedule
Monday, September 9, 2024
Cardboard Boat Races 1-2:30 pm at the Chancellors Pond
Get involved by cheering on student organizations, athletic teams, and departments as they race across the pond, or compete by building a boat out of cardboard!
Teams will race in heats of 4 to 5 teams. The top finishers of each heat will compete in one final race to determine the winning team. The top finishers will receive prizes.

Snacks and Skates 5-7 pm at the Fieldhouse Ice Arena
Grab your skates and join in for free fun, family-friendly open-skate. Bring your own skates or borrow some for free. Skates are available on a first- come, first- served basis.

Maize Fest 3-5 pm at the RUC Patio
A festival like none other! This year’s revamped Maize Fest will feature unique carnival games, prizes, activities, crafts, and free food. Whether you want to challenge your friends on the mechanical surfboard, get some airbrushed swag, or just enjoy some fun time with friends, Maize Fest is the event for you.

Come and cheer on past and present Wolverines as they compete against each other in a fun athletic game for the Maize and Blue Trophy. Registration to play for students
Homecoming Trivia Night 6:30 pm at Kochoff Hall C
Grab a team of 4 and test your knowledge! Prizes will be awarded to the first-place team. This event is open to students and alumni.
