CARE (Concern - Assess - Respond - Evaluate) Team Reporting

UM-Dearborn's CARE (Concern – Assess – Respond – Evaluate) Team is a campus resource which is available to all faculty, staff and students. This Team is the former Students of Concern Committee. The CARE Team is a cross-campus group of staff and faculty that assesses, refers and/or responds to critical incidents and concerns regarding the health and wellbeing of our students.

The Team will be mindful of all confidentiality and privacy issues, respectful of students’ rights, and also the rights of others in the community who are affected by a student’s behavior.

The CARE Team’s mission is to help students succeed while ensuring the safety of the university community as a whole. Its primary purpose is to ensure that our students are fully supported in their academic journey. This is accomplished by helping students connect with internal and external resources in order to resolve potential difficulties. The particular action taken in an individual situation depends upon the circumstances of that student’s needs and the severity of the situation.
