In spring 2017 UM-Dearborn employed a third-party, independent research company to conduct two surveys on our campus. The first survey was administered to faculty, staff and students to measure the diversity, equity and inclusion climate on campus. The second survey was administered to students to measure the prevalence of sexual misconduct effects on our students.
A working group of faculty, staff and students has reviewed the survey results and has provided insights into the findings and suggestions as to how to best communicate the findings to the campus community.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn will partner and engage with faculty, staff and students to develop a data-driven strategy to address areas in the reports identified for improvement. Methods may include further data analysis, focus groups, listening sessions, strategic planning sessions and training sessions to continuously seek to improve and update our initiatives in response to the survey findings.
Here is a list of the documents from the surveys:
- Sexual Misconduct Study Report
- Sexual Misconduct Study Report Executive Summary
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Climate Report (Student)

We look forward to making improvements for our campus by making good use of these important surveys.
