Discover internships and entry-level positions through UM-Dearborn's Career Connections, where you can access a variety of opportunities tailored to your interests and qualifications. Stay informed about upcoming events, information sessions, and company tours to enhance your professional network and career prospects.
Eligibility
- Admission into the BBA program.
- Overall grade point of 2.7 and above.
(Or a recommendation from two College of Business professors.)
- Students must have U.S. legal authorization and be eligible for internship employment.
- Students must have two semesters at UM-Dearborn.
- Students must meet with their Academic Advisor to see if they have credit available to utilize for an internship.
(Human resource and finance majors enrolled in the BBA program have the option to utilize internships as core elective credits. To take advantage of this opportunity, students are required to schedule a meeting with the Senior Internship Program Manager to determine eligibility and receive guidelines.)
- Good academic standing.
- Students must have completed six credit hours within the College of Business before starting the internship process.

Time to Schedule an Appointment
After reviewing the eligibility requirements above and creating an account in Career Connections, it is time to schedule an appointment.
Contact Rita Agius, Senior Internship and Academic Program Manager, to arrange your intake appointment. In this session, you'll discuss the Internship Contract and assess your eligibility for BI (Business Internship) courses, following consultation with your Academic Advisor to ensure credit availability.

Umdearborn biginterview - interviewing is a skill that must be developed and fine-tuned, and the purpose of an interview is to take what is written on your resume and cover letter and personalize that information through a conversation. During this process, the hiring organization and potential employee both have an opportunity to explore whether or not a fit exists. Reporting your internship benefits UM-Dearborn students in the following ways: As university representatives, we learn which companies are vested in hiring our students after graduation. We learn who are our strong employer partners. We also learn how many students take advantage of internship opportunities and what the percentage of intern-to-hire ratios are each year. In the Internship & Career Management Center, we work around the clock to make sure that we are finding a vast variety of internship and job opportunities that meet the needs of all College of Business majors.
Sign in to Career Connections. Click the "Home" icon on the left. Scroll down the page until you see "Career Outcomes" and select this option. Enter your "Work Experience" semester (ie..Fall 2023, Winter 2024), each internship should be reported individually per semester.
(Only create a report for the semesters you have accepted an offer.)
