Andrea is the University’s Director of the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office and the Title IX Coordinator. Andrea worked as a prosecutor for the City of Dearborn before joining ECRT on the Ann Arbor campus. In the time Andrea has been on the Dearborn campus, she has continued her focus on addressing sexual and gender-based misconduct, civil rights discrimination, and discriminatory harassment. Andrea is committed to fair and appropriate responses to discrimination, thoughtful prevention efforts, and innovative supportive measures and remedies. When not working, Andrea enjoys spending time with family, playing rec volleyball, and reading.

Andrew is the Deputy Director in the ECRT Dearborn Office. As a Deputy Director, Andrew facilitates and supports the University's efforts to ensure equal opportunity for all community members, and conducts investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct involving students, faculty, and staff. Andrew received his JD from the University of Illinois College of Law where he served as administrative editor of the Elder Law Journal. Prior to law school, Andrew received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Andrew has previously served as a Senior Investigator at the Ann Arbor ECRT office, as a civil rights investigator at Michigan State University’s Office for Institutional Equity, and as a supervisory investigator at the Department of Health and Human Services – Office for Civil Rights, where he supervised investigations of cases and compliance reviews of health care providers. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys running, going to the theatre, playing sports (especially tennis, golf, and volleyball), attending local sporting events, gardening, and collecting sports bobbleheads.
Rachel Roth Sawatzky, EdD (She/Her/Hers)

Rachel is the Prevention Lead for the UM-Dearborn and UM-Flint campuses and Assistant Director of Prevention, Education, Assistance & Resources (PEAR) within ECRT. PEAR offers specialized prevention and education activities for University employees. Rachel worked in student affairs for over a decade and served as a Title IX coordinator before joining ECRT. Rachel is committed to equity, individual agency, and collective well-being, whether she is conducting research and development projects, providing consultation, teaching, presenting, leading teams, or interacting with others on a personal level. In her free time, Rachel enjoys yoga, perennial gardening, and reading.
