Resources for Students

The University maintains a website with information and resources for students who parent.  Students may have specific pregnancy or parenting-related needs or requests that can be arranged by working directly with their instructors.  For questions, concerns or requests, please contact the Equity, Civil Rights and Title IX Office at 313-436-9194 or [email protected].  For more information, this pamphlet describes Title IX regulations pertaining to pregnant students.

Resources for Employees

University employees may request reasonable accommodations related to pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions. The University has a policy on Paid Maternity (Childbirth) and Parental Leaves.  For more information on this type of leave and its applicability, please visit Maternity (Childbirth) and Parental Leave.  Faculty and staff with questions or concerns about accommodations or leave should contact Human Resources at 313-593-5190 or [email protected].

Lactation Rooms

Lactation rooms are available on campus for use by students, faculty and staff of the University of Michigan-Dearborn who are breastfeeding.  Students Who Parent maintains a list of available sites.
