Counseling and Disability and Accessibility Services
Accessibility Resources for Incoming Students
As you support students who need accessibility accommodations in their transition to the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Disability and Accessibility Services is here to help.
Disability and Accessibility Services provides academic accommodations and/or supportive services to ensure registered students with disabilities have equal access and opportunities to thrive in college and, upon completion, compete for professional careers.
Please note that the accommodations a student receives in high school will not automatically carry over to UM-Dearborn. As such, if a student of yours needs assistance with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), 504 Plan, or other related resources, please review Disability and Accessibility Services for the steps needed for accommodations and services and share this information with your students.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAP)
The University of Michigan-Dearborn understands the importance of supporting our students holistically based on their needs, including their mental health. Our counseling and psychological services team provides free mental health services for our enrolled students to meet their needs.
The Mission of our Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is to advance student success by promoting emotional wellness and psychological development by providing culturally competent, high quality, and confidential mental health services, prevention and educational programming, campus-wide consultation, crisis response, and outreach. Our staff and trainees are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and affirming environment for all students.
As students transition into the University of Michigan-Dearborn, we want our students to be aware of the mental health services that we offer, please refer to Counseling and Psychological Services for how students get started with our counseling and psychological services and what is available.
