Canvas Help & Support - Courses

Unable to see a course, but are able to successfully login to Canvas?  Please review the following information regarding course availability.  For assistance with a different Canvas issue, please see the Canvas Help & Support front page.

Are all current courses marked as favorites?

Only courses form the current semester marked as favorites will show on the dashboard by default.  As courses are added, they should be marked as a favorite by default but occasionally this may need to be done manually.  See the how do I customize my courses list guide for information on changing favorite courses. The "All Courses" link under the courses menu can always be used to see all current and past courses.

Was registration (or adding as instructor of record) more than 24 hours ago?

Registration information can sometimes take up to 24 hours to transfer over to Canvas.  Please wait at least 24 hours after registering for a course to appear in Canvas.

Looking for a course for an upcoming semester?

Courses in Canvas generally are not available until the first official day of classes for each semester.  Instructors have the option to make courses available up to 7 days early, so certain courses may appear early while others will not appear until the first day of classes.

Still unable to see a course?

After reviewing the information above, if there is another issue with your courses in Canvas, please contact the University Coordinator of Digital Education from 8am-5pm on regular UM-Dearborn work days.  Immediate night and weekend support for Canvas issues involving course registration is not available at this time.
