There are a few different reasons a user may be unable to login to Canvas, please review the information below. For assistance with a different Canvas issue, please see the Canvas Help & Support front page.
New UM-Dearborn student or faculty member?
It may take up to a week for information to populate throughout all UM-Dearborn systems (including Canvas). Usernames (uniqnames) and passwords will be sent by ITS. For students, access to Canvas will be available after approximately one week of being admitted and also being registered for at least one class for 24 hours. For faculty, access to Canvas will be granted after being assigned as the instructor of record of at least one course in Banner.
Canvas (as with most other UM-Dearborn systems, including e-mail) requires a uniqname and kerberos password for login. If you do not know your kerberos password, you can reset it yourself if you have previously provided account recovery information. If not, you can phone or chat with the ITS Service Center for help.
Correct Canvas site?
Please ensure you are accessing UM-Dearborn Academic Canvas or UM-Dearborn Professional Development Canvas. If you log in to any of the Ann Arbor or Flint Canvas sites, you will NOT see your UM-Dearborn courses.
