Master's Admission Process for International Partner Programs
Admission Requirements
- An undergraduate course in finite math, pre-calculus, or calculus, completed with a converted grade of "C" or better.
- MS-Finance students may complete their program in 30 credit hours if they have completed one or more courses equivalent to the following foundation courses, with a converted grade of "B" or better, by the time of admission: ACC 505 (financial accounting), BE 530 (intermediate microeconomics), DS 520 (applied statistical modeling), or FIN 531 (finance fundamentals). Otherwise, students must complete all four foundation courses in their program, for a total of 33 credit hours.
- English Language Proficiency: at least 84 on the Internet-Based TOEFL, 6.5 on the IELTS, or 80 on the MELAB. Scores must be less than two years old.
- GMAT or GRE test: students typically must have scored at least 550 on the GMAT, or an equivalent GRE score, within the previous 5 years.
- Grade Point Average: students typically must have earned a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) based on UM-Dearborn's approved grade conversion scale.
- Application Deadline: materials must usually be received by May 1 for September admission.
- We encourage students with business and non-business majors to apply for this program.

- GMAT or GRE test within the previous 5 years. Applicants participating in a 3+2, 1+1, or other special programs with one of our partner universities will likely be eligible to waive the GMAT and GRE. See the final two bullet-points, which mention "articulation agreements," in our GMAT/GRE waiver policy.

Note about MS-Finance
MS-Finance students may complete the program in 30 credit hours if they have completed one or more courses equivalent to the foundation courses, with a converted grade of "B" or better, before admission. Otherwise, students complete all four foundation courses in the program, for a total of 33 credit hours.
Admission Process
Use your name as stated on your passport when registering for standardized tests and completing the online application. If you are not a student at one of our partner universities, please follow the general international admission process.
Start an application: Please click “Sign up” in our online application portal. Create your login credentials and follow the on-screen instructions. A valid email address is required to create and verify your account. You may stop and resume work on your application at any point.
Fee: The application requires payment of a $60 fee by Visa, Mastercard, or Discover.
Statement of purpose: Include a 150-200 word personal statement when prompted. Please explain your career goals and how your chosen graduate program may help you attain them.
Recommendation letter: The letter of recommendation is not required for students in our international partner programs. When prompted, please enter the name of your home university as the first name and last name of the recommender (for example, HUST, Yuan Ze Univeristy, VIT University). Enter "[email protected]" as the recommender's email address.
Resume: Include a 1-2 page resume when prompted. Please list education; any employment, internship, or similar types of experience; any professional affiliations, volunteer activities, or relevant honors and awards. Make sure to include dates for all activities (showing month and year of activity).
Provide official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended. These academic transcripts must show the course work you completed and the grades or test scores you earned. If your institution issues individual marksheets or gradesheets, we require official, individual marksheets or gradesheets for all semesters. An official transcript is one sent directly to us from the institution, or one received in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution, bearing the institutional seal and the official signature of the Registrar or Recorder of Records. (Notarized copies are not considered official.)
If your official transcripts or other documents are not in English, you must provide a version in the original language AND an official English translation.
