Mission of University Unions & Events

University Unions & Events hosts the Student and Community Centers of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, shepherding campus engagement resources, connecting all communities and their interests. We Help Students Succeed and support our colleagues to do the same by:

• Extending safe, welcoming environments that intentionally nurture discussion, collaboration and expression where students, faculty, staff and guests come together on common ground as one inclusive community
• Providing facilities and services that enhance the teaching, research, outreach and service missions of the University
• Representing collegial locations and services that support meetings, social gatherings and special events
• Contributing event planning expertise for meetings and programming initiatives of the University community
• Offering exemplary catered and retail food and beverage services that serve the spectrum of campus culinary appetites and designs
• Providing meaningful employment for students which offers experiential learning opportunities and provides income
• Being a catalyst for assisting students, student organizations, academic and non-academic units in developing collaborative programs and relationships that complement the academic experience
