Kris is responsible for the daily management of the James C. Renick University Center, Fairlane Center, and Union at Dearborn common spaces.  She is also responsible for supervising and managing almost 50 student employees who serve as Building Managers, Audio Visual Technicians, and UUE's Operations and Information Center teams.

Prior to serving as the Assistant Director of UUE, Kris was the Interim Director of the James C. Renick University Center, and the Director of Student Activities at UM-Dearborn since 2001.  Prior to that she worked at the MSU Union at Michigan State and the Idaho Commons & Student Union Building at the University of Idaho.  She earned her Masters degree in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University - Bloomington and her Bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University in Psychology and Biology.  She also serves on the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Education Council.

Outside of work, Kris enjoys spending time with her family, traveling (she has slept in all 50 states and visited three continents), running, and exploring good food through cooking and visiting restaurants.

Nick manages the Events Office for University Unions which includes planning high profile events, directing the Events Staff and promoting our services to the campus & community in general. Nick has been working in the Events industry for over 15 years.  In his free time, he likes to bike, run and enjoy all things geeky.

Mandy Earl

Mandy is new to the University Union & Events teams and the University of Michigan-Dearborn as of March 2023.  She will assist students, faculty, staff and community members in planning events of all levels.  Mandy has over 14 years of higher education and event planning experience.  

Prior to coming to the university Mandy worked at Henry Ford College as the Student Activities Associate, at Northville Hills Golf Club as the Banquet Sales Director, and at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor as the Assistant Director of Intramurals and Club Sports.  

Outside of work, Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband and son, watching her son play sports and spending time at their cabin up north.

Marco Lang

Marco joined the University Union & Events (UUE) teams at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in August 2023, assuming the role of Operations Coordinator. In this capacity, he bears the responsibility of overseeing the performance of building managers, information desk professionals, and the UUE's operations team.

Before joining the UUE team, Marco's professional journey included a role as a student supervisor at the Albion College library. He further fortified his academic background with a graduate degree in Information Science, obtained from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

In his leisure time, Marco finds enjoyment in activities that promote an active lifestyle, such as exercising, pick-up basketball, and hiking.
