Photo ID
Students, faculty and staff use MCards as photo ID at University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Fall 2023 Update
Beginning in August, an appointment will no longer be needed to get a Mcard. You can stop by the UC Information Center during the hours of 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday to get your Mcard. Please bring your expired/expiring card with you for exchange. If you have lost your Mcard, there will be a $20 replacement charge.
Government photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport) will be required at the time of Mcard issuance for all individuals.
Also, students must have a copy of their current class registration in order to have a card printed. Students must be currently enrolled in order to have a card printed.
As of August 6, 2018, the replacement fee has increased to $20 for lost, damaged, or stolen cards. UM-Dearborn is now issuing "smart" cards for increased campus security. All current cards will not be replaced; only individuals who need door access to a secure area on campus will be contacted regarding card replacement. All new and replacement cards issued will be smart cards.

Mcard Information
Background
In August 2018, the University updated the door access and Mcard system to offer better campus security and control of campus access. Many faculty and staff upgraded their Mcards at that time, but some did not. Since August 2018, only upgraded Mcards have been issued. To confirm if you have an upgraded card, look to see if there is a key symbol to the right of your photo. If your card has the key, then you already have the upgraded Mcard!
