The James C. Renick University Center (RUC) is a gathering place for our campus community on UM-Dearborn's central campus. It is home to many convenient shops and services including:

• McKinley Cafe
• University of Michigan Credit Union and ATM
• UM-Dearborn Barnes & Noble Bookstore
• Mcard / Photo ID services
• Meeting and event space available for rent

The RUC is also home to the following departments:

• Center for Social Justice & Inclusion (Rooms 2170 & 2174)
• Counseling and Psychological Services (Room 2157)
• Office of Student Life (Room 2136)
• One Stop Services (HAS MOVED TO SSB 1ST FLOOR) which houses Financial Aid & Scholarships, Student Accounts, Undergraduate Admissions, and the Registrar's Office
• Office of International Affairs (Room 2106)
• START Advising (Room 2149)

Meeting space, two buildings and two colleges at the Fairlane Center.

Meeting space at the Fairlane Center at 19000 Hubbard Drive, adjacent to UM-Dearborn’s main campus on Evergreen, offers nearly 22,000 square feet of meeting, conference and event rental space. With 10 meeting rooms, from the 1,200 sq. ft. classrooms to a 5,400 banquet room and many rooms in-between. Many of the rooms offer configurable space for you to host your next meeting or special event. The Fairlane Center is centrally located in Wayne County and in metro-Detroit offering plenty of free visitor parking on surface lots near the building’s north entrance. 

The complex is comprised of two buildings, Fairlane Center North and South, adjoined through a hallway, allowing for inside travel as event rooms are situated in both locations.

• The south building is home to the College of Business, College of Education Health and Human Services, and several classrooms and meeting rooms available for rent, and the Picasso Deli Fairlane.
• The north building houses a wide range of conference rooms and social spaces that are perfect for accommodating guests seeking a one-room meeting, a conference with plenary and workshop sessions or special reception.

Both the College of Business and the College of Education Health and Human Services, as well as academic classrooms are housed at Fairlane Center throughout the north and south buildings. Rental meeting rooms, study lounges, numerous quiet study rooms and the Picasso Deli also reside here, creating a distinct synergy of academia and social gathering space.

The Union at Dearborn has much to offer UM-Dearborn students

As the first housing option specifically designed for UM-Dearborn students in decades, this independently owned space is beautifully appointed, offering fully furnished apartments as well as a wide range of amenities. Gathering spaces at the Union at Dearborn offer a place for memorable collegiate experiences to happen, as well as fostering a sense of home.

The Union at Dearborn has much to offer the UM-Dearborn campus

Student life activities abound in the Victor’s Den which is home to ping pong and pool tables and boasts open spacious seating – perfect for informal gatherings to study, eat and relax. On a given day, you may see hundreds enjoying a pancake breakfast, a group in a heated game of ping pong or a crowd gathered to watch a U of M basketball game. You may see a small group collaborating on a group project or a plethora of residents eating popcorn while enjoying a movie night.

The Mug Life Cafe is located on the first floor of the Mardigian Library near the building entrance. It offers specialty coffees, muffins, bagels, croissants, and more.
