Welcome to the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL). As the Dean, I am thrilled to lead this dynamic community of students, scholars, educators, and staff, all committed to fostering excellence in education, innovation, and discovery. Our diverse team is dedicated to igniting intellectual curiosity, nurturing creativity, advancing scholarship, and ultimately enhancing the educational journey of our students at all academic levels. Our culture is grounded on the principles of inclusivity, respect, and the creation of welcoming environments that uplift everyone – faculty, staff, and students alike.

At CASL, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive liberal arts education across humanities, sciences, and math. Our programs foster critical thinking, ethics, empathy, and adaptability. By blending skills with a strong liberal arts base, we empower students to become capable, responsible citizens and innovative leaders, meeting 21st-century demands. Our Dearborn Discovery Core strengthens UM-Dearborn students' access to exceptional learning. We are committed to a deep student engagement with faculty and peers, including impactful research, internships, and study abroad experiences for a competitive advantage. We continuously expand academics, aligning with evolving student and community needs. All are welcome – recent graduates, transfer students, professionals, alumni – fostering growth and engagement.
