Program Tracks and Undergraduate Certificates for Mechanical Engineering
Students who would like to focus on a particular area of mechanical engineering may select
their elective courses to follow one of the recommended tracks listed below.
If three courses, a minimum of 9 credit hours, are completed with grades of B or better within a
specific track, a student may claim an undergraduate certificate in this area. A minimum
certificate grade point average of 3.0 is required to obtain the certificate. Courses completed
toward one certificate area may be double-counted toward the BSE in Mechanical Engineering
degree, but not toward additional certificates.
Courses in this track cover the principles of structural mechanics, dynamics, and vibrations, and the methods of analysis and modern applications in automotive and other industries.
