We make it easy for you to transfer to the College of Business.

When transferring from a community college, there are multiple tools you can utilize to prepare yourself and ensure that you are maximizing your time.

  • Transfer Guides
  • Articulation Agreements
  • Michigan Transfer Agreement
  • Course Transfer System
  • Meet with COB Transfer Specialist
  • Transfer Nights

Community College Transfer Guides

The following guides list the courses at local community colleges that apply directly to the requirements of the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. If planning to pursue the BBA, students attending any of these schools should choose courses specified on these guides. Students not attending one of these colleges may contact Cathy Boatin, College of Business Transfer Specialist, for assistance.

The Michigan Transfer Agreement

The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) permits transfer students to complete a 30-credit hour set of liberal arts coursework at a Michigan community college, then apply those classes towards a university degree within Michigan.

  • Michigan Transfer Agreement

For students that transfer to UM-Dearborn, the MTA will be applied toward the Dearborn Discovery Core (general education requirements) and fulfill the following: Humanities and Arts (6 credits), Natural Sciences (7 credits), Social & Behavioral Sciences (6 credits), Quantitative Thinking & Problem Solving (3 credits), Written and Oral Communication (6 credits). The additional two credits will be applied toward a student’s elective requirements.

Students should check with their community college to determine which courses can be used to fulfill the MTA categories and learn the details for obtaining an MTA endorsement on their transcript. Students transferring to UM-Dearborn must have the Michigan Transfer Agreement Satisfied designation posted on their transcript to take advantage of the MTA.

Course Transfer System

You can utilize UM-Dearborn's Course Transfer System to review courses that have been evaluated for transferability. Courses listed in the CTS, but not on the guides, can generally be used to fulfill elective credit requirements.
