Scheduling Final Exams

Guidance on Scheduling of Final Exams in Summer 2024

  • The study days are:
    • Summer I: Saturday & Sunday, June 22-23
    • Summer II: Saturday & Sunday, August 17-18
    • No final exams can be administered or due on these days.
  • Exams will be held:
    • Summer I: Monday, June 24 - Wednesday, June 26
    • Summer II: Monday, August 19 - Thursday, August 22
  • All in-person or hybrid courses have been given a three-hour time block on one of the exam days for in-person exams.
  • For online courses scheduled as ONLN (asynchronous), final exams are not scheduled for in-person delivery or provided a three-hour time block.
    • Faculty must give students at least a 24-hour window for taking a final exam for courses scheduled with the ONLN modality.
    • Online exam proctoring is prohibited.
  • For online courses scheduled as ONREG (synchronous), final exams are not scheduled for in-person delivery or provided a three-hour time block.
    • Faculty must assign a window for students to take a final exam that is at least 6 hours.
    • Online exam proctoring is prohibited.
  • For courses scheduled as ONMST (Hybrid-Mostly Online), the final exam delivery may be in-person or online.
    • Faculty of these courses should communicate the delivery type of the course exam(s) to their students. If the final exam will be held in person, it must be held on one of the final exam dates and in an exam timeblock.
    • Faculty will also need to communicate the exam date and timeblock to their students, as well as the Registrar's Office to ensure a space is available/reserved.
  • Faculty do not have to use the entire exam block time but must schedule their exam within the assigned block.
  • Faculty should refer to the Final Exams and Study Days policy if they need to adjust a final exam date or time.
