  • 1 course in Geology
  • 1 course in Physics
  • 1 course in Statistics

Students applying to the 3 + 2 Program will be assessed by the Director of the MSES Program twice: after successful completion of the first 3 years of their undergraduate curriculum at CUG, WUT, or HUST (Phase I) and after completion of their senior year of undergraduate studies at UM-Dearborn CASL (Phase II).

  • In Phase I, students applying to the 3 + 2 Program must have completed the prerequisite courses (listed above) for admission to the MSES Program. Students who have successfully completed their senior year at UM-Dearborn CASL will undergo a curriculum review by UM-Dearborn CASL. If senior undergraduate program requirements are deemed complete, UM-Dearborn CASL will forward to CUG, WUT, or HUST an official transcript of the student's work at UM-Dearborn CASL for final review and applicability to student's degree at CUG, WUT, or HUST. CUG, WUT, or HUST will determine if the student is eligible to graduate and will then confer CUG, WUT, or HUST's bachelor's degree to the student.
  • In Phase II, students who wish to be considered for admission to the MSES Program shall obtain a notification letter from CUG, WUT, or HUST of their completion of their bachelor's degree at CUG, WUT, or HUST. CUG, WUT, or HUST will forward an official copy of the letter and transcript showing all courses being applied to the bachelor's degree (including all transferable courses taken at UM-Dearborn CASL) to the Department of Natural Sciences at UM-Dearborn CASL. Any graduate courses taken that were applied to the undergraduate degree cannot be counted toward graduate degree requirements. Once the letter, transcript and all other application and admission documentation are received and evaluated by UM-Dearborn CASL, and if the Department of Natural Sciences agrees that the student meets UM-Dearborn CASL's graduate admission standards, the student will be admitted to the MSES Program at UM-Dearborn CASL.
