Program Details
Join the Urban Watershed Science REU at the University of Michigan-Dearborn for a 10-week summer research experience. This program offers a stipend, housing, and a chance to conduct interdisciplinary fieldwork and lab research projects on the Rouge River with expert faculty mentors. You will gain valuable skills through projects focused on water quality, biodiversity, and green infrastructure, and participate in professional development workshops covering topics from graduate school preparation to career paths in STEM and data analysis and statistics.
The program runs from May to August 2026. For eligibility, applicants must be U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are an undergraduate student. Please note that due to NSF requirements, international students on temporary visas are not eligible. Expectations for all participants include working full-time (40 hours per week) and living on campus for the entire 10-week period. The application period opens on September 1, 2025, with a deadline of January 15, 2026.
